Not so Merry

This is Ciera with Santa at her school. As you can tell, she is not so merry about seeing him. After this, I decided that the trip to the mall would be a waste. This layout was created with supplies from The Scrapbook Get-Away for the sketch challenge at ChallengeMasters. I just love the way it turned out and plan on sticking this sketch into my book of favorites. I hope everyone is ready for a wonderful Christmas, please remember the true meaning of Christmas and not fall into the "its all about the gifts" crowd. This has been a tough year for many and many to come. Cherish what is most important,,,family and friends. Chow and Happy Holidays!!

Fathsisters.com

I am thinking this sounds like such a wonderful idea...will give it a try.

As the year is coming to an end we are busy planning for next year. In 2010 we are going back to the basics of leaving a legacy of faith. This years challenges are all focused on YOU and your lifetime story. When you join us in this challenge you will be creating a mini-autobiography. We are counting down the days till January 6th because we are so stinkin' excited about the My Lifetime Story challenges!!!

Wouldn't you to know what your grandma's favorite toy was as a child, how she felt when she met your grandpa, her favorite scripture and the song that expressed her heart? Your children and grandchildren will have that treasure when you join us in this challenge!

We will start out with your family roots in January and move into your childhood in February. We will continue throughout the year with your teen and adult years as well. The last challenge of the year will be a letter to your future generations or anyone who reads your book.

Each of our stories is important. This is a book that everyone should create about themselves. It will be the most treasured album of your family. As you create this album about your lifetime story you will be leaving YOUR LEGACY OF FAITH. This is an album that can make an impact in your life as you create it, but it will also create a major impact in the lives of your family both now and in future generations. As your children read your story in this scrapbook that YOU created, they will take your stories to heart. Your stories may have more impact on them than even Bible stories, because they are personal and from someone they know and . When friends and neighbors pick up your storybook and look through it you will be witnessing without even saying a word. They will read your lifetime history and discover your of Jesus, and His forgiveness and faithfulness in your life!

The My Lifetime story challenges will begin the first Wednesday in January. A new challenge will be posted each Wednesday all throughout 2010. The last challenge will be posted the last Wednesday of December. Just because the challenge series ends at the end of 2010 doesn't mean your lifetime story album is finished. We will continue to offer periodic challenges to continue your autobiography and keep it current.

Please join us in this year long challenge! Some of these challenges may be layouts you have already completed. That is ok! We need to get these all compiled in your lifetime storybook. Everyone deserves to be the star of their own book, including and most importantly YOU! If you don't put some time aside to create your My Lifetime Story album now, you may never find the time. If something were to happen to you, would your legacy of faith be lost forever? Take action now, join us as we create our lifetime storybooks for the next generation to see the glorious work the Lord can do in the life of a woman that loves God!

Begin thinking about what size album you would like to use for your My Lifetime Story challenge. started hers in an 8x8 but now has decided that she needs more space so is moving up to a 12x12. is doing hers 12x12 also because she knew she had a lot she wanted to fit into this album. What size do you prefer? Start gathering your supplies now so you will be ready to start when we kick off the first challenge January 6th!

Next week we will post a Photo List so you can start gathering photos that you will need for this challenge.

Wednesday Card Sketch#1 @

Let's Capture These Sketches Tomorrow is my sons 16th birthday so I made a card for him using Sassafrass Lass silly monsters. All sixteen year olds are monsters right? I used the sketch from Capture those Sketches, works great with this little felt friend!

Lets Capture These Sketches

I created this layout using Sketch #13 at Let's Capture These Sketches. This is an awesome photo of our exchange student, Lukas, with two girls from Spain. They were at orientation in New York when they met. He is a ladies man, can't you tell?

Been scrappin!

I was just working on a few challenges. One of them was posted at The Scrapbook Get-Away. We have a new challenge every day. Head on over and check them out. I also combined this lo with the sketch from the Scrappiest blog and Technique Tuesday from Happy Scrappin Scrapbooks. Nothing like getting them all in on one layout. :-) Hope you enjoy. Come back later as I plan to scrap some more today and Monday since I do not have to work. I just love that Christopher Columbus.

tips and techniques

If you are looking for a new technique to try I have one for you. I have not crocheted since I was a young girl and really don't even remember how. If you do then I am going to recommend that you head on over to Susan Stringfellow's blog...Creatively Savvy. She has a tutorial on using crocheting on your layout and the results are spectacular.

Serendipity Scrapbooks is Croppin' this weekend

Happily Ever After Crop at Serendipity Scrapbooks

Why should we let the kids be the only one's to believe in fairy tales and that there is always a happy ending? For one weekend Serendipity Scrapbooks is going to take us back to our childhood when we still were able to believe wishes do come true by wishing on stars.

If you love Disney and Fairy tales and love to let your imagination run wild every once in a while then this crop will be perfect for you. Come and join us for Challenges and games that the DT has worked hard to come up with and that all have a fairy tale twist.

Each of these challenges and games will have a RAK and as always we will crown a queen of the crop. Pre Crops will start August 14th with The Main Crop and challenges starting August 21st.
Hope to see you there!

Scrapping the Music

I had not visited Scrapping the Music's blog in a while so I headed over there to help me out with a lo title. I was so happy that this weeks challenge was the perfect fit for a lo of my dd that I was working on. The challenge this week was to use the theme song from the old Mary Tyler Moore show. It worked out great and I had a good laugh listening to that oldie again. Thanks for the inspiration girls!

We are Back!

from Austin. The girls and I went down to visit my brother and his family. Had a good time and got some scrapping done while I was there. I also made a few purchases at Archievers. So lucky that there is not one here in Ft. Worth or I would be overdrawn all the time. I have been working on a little surprise that I will be sharing with everyone soon. I am uber excited to share but it is not quite ready yet so I am forcing myself to wait. Stay tuned, it will be revealed soon.

Lost a Great Friend

Wow, it seems like forever since I have posted. We were having problems with our phone lines after heavy rains and storms last week. Then our puppies tore up some lines so I have been without a computer at home for almost a week. I could check in from work but our server blocks blogs so I could not post here. I have been trying to scrap today but kinda in a funk after loosing a great friend. My cat was killed today by our puppies. I don't know if they meant to kill him but he was so old he just couldn't get away. I have had that cat for 16 years. I got him the year before I had my son. He has been with me thru thick and thin. In the past 9 months or so he had stopped going outside, just too old to fight with strays and the such. Today the weather was sunny and warm so he had ventured out to enjoy the day. My dd ran in and told me the puppies had killed him. I could not bare to go out and see. The dh and the kids buried him. I saw the girls picking flowers in the backyard. I know he was old and dying was near, just wish he could have gone off and done it another way. I will miss his character and presence around the house.

http://www.twochicksdesigns.com/detail.aspx?ID=247
I was at Layle Koncar's blog
And this caught my eye.

Such a cool t-shirt with a great message! I have a good friend (Katie) that is going through breast cancer and treatments right now. She finished Chemo in Dec. and is almost thru with radiation. As soon as I saw this shirt, I knew it was for her! She has such a postitive attitude, she is truely remarkable. She is getting her hair back and is so cute!!

Two Chicks Designs donates a portion of every sale of their breast cancer awareness apparel and accessories to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer.

If you have anyone in your life that has gone through or is currently going through breast cancer, definitely go check out the Two Chicks Designs site - lots of great things supporting the cure. And if you're a scrapbooker, check out their scrapbooking apparel while you're there - fun stuff!

Save a Life!!

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is
having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know. http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/

AGAIN , PLEASE TELL 10 FRIENDS TO TELL 10 TODAY
And, don't forget to bookmark it and go back every day! You could be saving a life!

It literally is as easy as going to that site and clicking on the pink box and that's it. You don't have to fill anything out or anything.

Thanks to Heather for sending this info! It really is nothing but could make a difference in someones life.

Card Patterns Sketch#6

Alicia hooked me up with this card blog challenge so I thought I would give it a try. Awesome prizes to be given away over there. Go take a peek! Here is the card sketch #6 and my take on it. Thanks Alicia!

365 Days/365 Cards

I am a little behind, but I plan on trying to get more cards done. My friend, Desiree was asking about card sites/sketches etc. so I will be turning her onto a few along the way. If you have great card sites, please leave a comment for her to check out since I am sure I do not know all of the great sites out there. I am starting with 365 Cards and we will go from there. Don't forget to leave your favorite site or blog in the comments for her to check out. Alecia's blog (to the right column) has some wonderful cards on it too. Have fun Desiree and don't for get to come back and share your creations with us!!

A Little Creativity is Good for the Soul

I didn't get as much done yesterday as I would have liked but I was happy with my layout that I did for Sketch#43 at Creative-Scrappers so I thought I would share. This is my dh and I the night before our last child. I have never had great "belly shots" before and just love the way these turned out. Since it is our last baby that makes it all the more special. I will never have that chance to feel the little life wiggle inside of my tummy again and that makes me kinda sad. I will cherish those moments forever. Today is another beautiful day, gearing up for possible rain again. I love spring rain as long as it doesn't get cold with it like last week. Enjoy your day in your neck of the woods.

Guest Designer for Creative-Scrapper

Super Duper! I was just chosen as guest designer for Creative-Scrappers. I am so excited. I just love their sketches and can't wait for them to come up each week. The girls there are wonderful too, so supportive of eachother. I am just itching to see the sketch that they give me to work with. The new design team will be announced soon, so head on over and see what is going on there. Desiree, they also have card sketches too. Register and join us in all the fun.

Beautiful Day!

Wow, what a beautiful day! Spring is definetly in the air here. We have the windows open, cleaning a little, sun is out and shining so bright. I just love days like this, especially when I don't have to work and be cooped up all day. I am ready to scrap a little though. I think I will go blog hopping. I know Tara has a new challenge or too on her blog and Lucy has some great sketches. I also have a sketch challenge to do at Creative Scrappers and new ones at Scrapperie. This should keep me busy for the day. I will be back tomorrow and let you know if I get this accomplished, until then, enjoy your beautiful day!

Welcomed Rain

Well, it has been raining cats and dogs for two days now. Boy did we need it too, but I could have done without the cold. Earlier in the week we were having 80 degree days and you could just feel spring in the air, now it feels like winter again. I am off tomorrow to visit my parents for the weekend and then we will come back home on and enjoy a lazy spring break from school. I can't wait, we all need a break. It will be so nice to sleep in, scrap through the day. Oh, and a little house keeping in between. DJ will be with us too and that always makes for a great time. We all miss him so much, it is nice when he is home. I hope the sunny weather shows back up so we can spend some time outdoors. We had hoped to go camping, guess mother nature will determine that. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend and if you don't have anything to do, check out the March is for Members crop at YOUR MEMORIES BY DESIGN. I am sorry to say, I will be missing out on that.

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

I am so stoked! I was selected Guest Sketch Designer at Your Memories by Design. I was totally surprised here. I threw in my hat at the last minute, truely didn't expect to win since there are so many great sketch designers out there. Head on over there and design with my sketch and you could win some free goodies. Thanks again for selecting me. I can't wait to see what everyone does with the sketch.

I am just loving the lifts that I am doing for the YMBD Saturday Scraplift. Of course, I never get around to it until late Saturday but it gets me going. Some awesome ladies to lift over there. Can't wait until the next one. Here is my lift from today, I lifted a gorgeous layout by Marti. This is my youngest dd at her Bible dedication. Thanks for checking it out!

Sunday, February 22, 2009

I am just loving scrapping these photos of my girls on our recent photo shoot at the park. I just love fresh new photos, such an easy way to get the mojo pumping. Challenges are another favorite way to get me moving. I combine as many as I can. Here I did the clusters challenge from Tara Thynner's blog, a daily challenge (tags) at Serendipity, For the love of embellishments at Scrapperie, and saturday scraplift challenge at YMBD blog. Whew, all in one little layout of my lovely little angel.

Komen Tarrant County Race for the Cure®

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the Komen Tarrant County Race for the Cure® on Saturday, April 11, 2009, in the fight against breast cancer. A great friend of mine, Katie Agor was diagnosed with cancer last June. She has gone thru chemo and now radiation. She is a very tough woman. She continues to care for her family and work a full time job as a fellow teacher. She is wonderful at both. We love her to pieces. She has a wonderful attitude and refuses to let this b eat her. Please help me support her and help find a cure before my own children have to face this themselves.

The current economic downturn hightens the need for additional funds to meet the increasing demand for services within the Tarrant Count community. The more I raise, the more the Tarrant County Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own community and support the national search for a cure. Imagine a World without Breast Cancer!

YMBD scraplift challenge

This was such fun. I lifted YMBD's Vanessa on this lo for the Sat. challenge. Her "amore" lo was beautiful. I also used some wonderful BG stash here. Wow, how old is this pp, like 5 years, and I still love the frogs. That is our school mascot too so it works great with a school page. Check out YOur Memories By Design when you get a chance.

Hi girls, sorry I have not been around much since the beginning of the week. My dad had to have surgery on Friday and they took out a mass from his bladder and are saying it is cancer. So I have been down there, not sure how much going I will have to do back and forth (3 hrs one way), I am trying to talk him into coming here since our drs are better and this is where he had his kidney transplant. He is in double jeapordy since the meds they want to use to treat this could affect his anti rejection medicine for the kidney which has already dropped to working 80%. For now all we are doing is waiting.

'08 reflection

kinda whirling this around in my mind for a layout this afternoon. I left '07 feeling kind of down and out: stepdaughter moved out and wasn't making good choices, ds moved in with his dad, I had lost one of the closest people in my life (grandma), I had a miscarriage. So needless to say I was looking forward to 2008 to be a better year. Well it has been. I have had a better year at work, enjoying my new postition that I had much aprehension about. My family is all well and healthy. I have come to accept the changes with my oldest children. We had a new baby (Ciera). We are more involved with our church. 2008 has been a good year and I am looking forward to seeing what is in store for me in 2009. Happy New Year everyone!! May God bless you through out!!
