Well it is Sunday, took a little me time and slept in this morning. Feel so much better now, ready to tackle the day and do some scrapbooking too. It is a dreary day here, I am so ready for some sunshine and spring time...How about you? Last night, I worked on a great sketch by Get YOur Scrap On #2, these goofy pictures of our middle daughter. She would stick her tongue out every time I tried to take a serious photo...she thinks I am the mamaratzii. Big ol' goofball!! Also for Crop Stop blog challenge add some stickles I added stickle dots around the middle circle nd on the J since it was black and needed to stand out more with the glitter. Thanks for looking this morning. Will probably have more to share tonight...Happy Sunday and Happy Scrapping!

I have been busy the last two days, created 6 layouts and 3 cards for several challenges and dt opportunities. I am so stoked to be scrapping after a long dry spell. A day of hookie from work did wonders too. ;-) The first layout and card were created using Lucy Chesna's sketches at My Sketch World. Her sketches always rock my world! They are so versital. The card envelope is also decorated inside and out for the Envy the Envelope challenge at Just Us Girls! The second layout "Grow" is my darling baby girl...so sad that she is growing up, can't she just stay 2 forever!! This layout was created using this weeks sketch at CropStop! They are also starting up a challenge blog too, gotta go check them out if you haven't already. I will save the rest for tomorrow, don't forget to check back then to see what I have been up too!! Chow!

Here is one for Stuck Sketches! Love the sketch, worked really great for these photos of me and my husband at Ceasar's Palace. We took these photos as we walked thru the forum shops. I always love taking photos of the statues and waterfalls. I do wonder though why he has such a sneeky little grin? I tried out making these little handmade aster flowers out of ledger paper. Turned out ok for the first time. :-) I used some old Pink Paislee stickers instead of pattern paper. Thanks for looking, see you again soon.

Envy the Envies (envelope) challenge at Just Us Girls Challenge Blog and Card Patterns SKetch #97

Created this cute little monkey card while trying to learn how to blend my new Copic markers. I am by far a great stamper but I am trying to learn new techniques. I love and envie the way some people make it look like pure art...gorgeous. Maybe I will get there some day. I did buy a blending pen but it is dry? Is it supposed to be dry? I think I need to return it. Just monkey business while I try to get the littlest monkey to go to bed. She took a long nap today and doesn't want to go to sleep.

First layout and card of the New Year!!!

Created this layout for the Color Room Challenge. My colors are a muted version of the colors given, with some Basic Grey Recess (Principal and Biology). Sage was on a photo shoot and chose to wear this ragged old cowgirl hat. She is so photogenic, doesn't even have to work at being beautiful. I added the raffia type to mimic the ragged edges of the hat, the woven heart was inspired by the weaving of the paper on the sketch. I only used one photo instead of three and rotated the title. Thanks for looking! Happy New Year!!

We made it back..so good to be home

We enjoyed out get away, but we are so excited to be home again. The Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam were magnificant. Pictures do them no justice. If you have never seen them, don't put it off, they are both a wonderful sight. Getting home was a bit of a different story. We spent two whole days driving on ice and snow. I 40 was shut down twice, the second time we were forced to get a motel over night. We were one of the lucky ones, we got one of three left in the town. Unbelievable. In places there was snow up to the car windows, I am ready for summer after all that. The temp got down to 0* brrrrr. So glad not to live there even know it was pretty, it was also very dangerous, some not as lucky as we.

Headed to Vegas

Well, we have been driving since 9:15 this morning, headed to Las Vagas for a couple of days to ourselves. We still have about 8 1/2hours to go. It has been a good ride so far. We stopped in Amarillo to see the some Big Tex' steak house with a 72 oz steak and the Cadillac Ranch. We drove some more and stopped to take a few pictures of historic Route 66 places. Now it is dark and cold. Looking forward to creating layouts of this trip. Missing the girls right now, my friend Sarah is watching them and they said the baby had missing the mama blues last night. Makes me sad, but glad to have some time alone with dh.

I received a gift card from my secret Santa at work so today, I bought my first Copic markers. Going to give this a shot. Of course, I went over the gift certificate amount, but isn't that what they count on? I also bought this cute little monkey stamp to practice on. I am going to use them for Valentines day cards. Stamping and using Copic Markers

I have to admit, I mostly scrapbook...I am not a great stamper. But there is always areas that everyone needs to improve in, stamping just happens to be one of mine. I found this awesome tutorial on Scrapbooking Supplies R Us. This tutorial shows how to use Copic markers , blending etc. Guess I will have to go get me some and try this out. She makes it look so easy...LOL. Here are more tips by Christi on how to buy Copic markers and to read the color codes. This helps a ton, I would never have figured this out.

Hello everyone. Sorry that I basically fell off of the Earth. Lots going on in my life over the last few months. I apologize to everyone for not communicating my disappearance but just didn't, no excuses. As many of you know my mom has had serious health problems in the last year. They determined that her last coma was a metabolic coma. Not sure what caused that one. She has a better doctor now and is up to 86 lbs. In August, my cousin (27) passed suddenly. This was a surprise for me and on top of everything else going on I became really depressed. Overloaded at work and didn't function very well. I have not scrapped in almost 6 months. My last lo is unfinished still sitting on the table. I have not been healthy either. Had a bunch of bloodwork done when they were adjusting my medicine and they found that I was Vit. D deficient..who knew. Also borderline diabetic and high triglycerides on top of my high blood pressure. I have had to make some life changes and still need to get a lot of this under control but I am working on it. I am going to ease back into scrapbooking (I hope). I need to first get organized and clean everything up. Thanks to the many of you who have been checking up on me, I am grateful for all of you in my life. For now, take it easy and have a glorious holiday season.

Submission requirements for The Scrapbook Get-Away Design Team (September-December) are as follows :

Please include three items that show your creative talents, these may include cards, layouts, altered items. These items must be new for this call, and not posted elsewhere during the submission period.

Please also include at least three examples of your previous work which you feel best display your style. These may be cards, layouts or altered projects, and may be previously submitted work.

Please include your SBGA screen name, your full name, home address, phone number, email address, a link to your blog if you have one, links to any galleries where your current work is featured, as well as a small bio about you/your family and your creative experience (if any, experience is not necessarily required)

Send submissions to s_dilldine@msn.com.Please put Design Team in the Subject line. Applicants will be accepted from the United States at this time.

*All current Design Team must reapply if interested.

Submissions will be taken from Monday, August 2 till Thursday, August 26thth at midnight cst.. Successful applicants will be notified via email no later than Sunday, August 29th.

Successful applicants must be - a registered member on the SBGA forum, with at least 20 posts.

What I ask from you: Actively participate on the message board during your term as DT, posting challenges, questions, encouraging others, as well as leaving praise/commenting in the Member Gallery. Hope everyone is having a terrific Thursday. I am sticking close to home today, gotta naked troll running around my house. We are trying to potty train Ciera. She won't keep her diaper on so figured this was as good a time as any to try. I have a stinkin feeling she isn't going to be as easy as the others. They never liked getting pee on them so they learned quick, she doesn't seem to care. She just thinks it is fun to run around without a diaper.

Since I am on potty watch today, decided to scrap a little. I worked on the newly posted Sketchabilites sketch #16. This is my 6 yr old at Fiesta Texas a few weeks ago. They loved the carousel and rode it over and over. I always think the carousel makes the prettiest pictures. I used Bo Bunny Peacock Lane papers. Whew! I have done more purple lo's this week than I have in years.

I look the scraps from one of my latest layouts and just jumped right into making this cute little card. I think it is a great day to day card for showing someone just how special they are. I rarely scrap "myself" so this is a rare lo of me. The journaling is about my not being able to trust others, especially when I first got married. I had been burned and wasn't about to be burned again (you know, that kind of thing!) Anyway it was one obstacle that my dh and I had to work thru. I think we have done a pretty good job at it. I used Bo Bunny Peacock Lane to create an 8.5x11 lo for So you Think you can Scrap contest at Tallyscrapper. Well, since I don't create this size for myself, I converted it to 12x12 when I was finished so that it fits in my albums. Sketch ideas from Stuck!?sketches. Thanks for looking.

Went on a buying frenzie yesterday and stocked up on Bo Bunny, bought two whole lines since they are about to release the next batch of yummy goodness. One reason to love Monday is that is when Liz Chidester reveals her new sketch for the week at The Scrappiest. I have spent the day scrapping and was so excited when I saw this one. This photo is of my grandmother taken around 1990. When all the grandkids were small, we all called her Big Memaw. It wasn't until later that we started calling her grandma. I am not sure of the date, will have to add that later. Hope everyone had a great scrappy Monday like I did. See you later.

This layout features pictures of my darling daughter Sage when we sent ice cream to her Kindergarten class for her birthday. The two girls in the opposite photo are some of her friends from school. Trip to San Antonio ROCKED!

The weather was perfect (well, as perfect as you can get in Texas in the middle of June!). There were hardly any lines, the kids (& sil) rode some of the rides like 6 TIMES! some times, they didn't even get off the log ride. Ciera and I were on standby feeding the fish and taking photos of the crew as they went by. We spent so much time on the rides, we didn't even make it to the water park...oh, well, there is always next time. We all had a great time. Here are a couple of shots of the crew and their adventures.

I know I shouldn't post twice in one day, but I needed this to get up since I will be going out of town tomorrow. I am headed down to Austin to spend time with my brother and his family. We are also taking the girls to Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. Here is a layout that I had fun doing, used Sketchabilities sketch #17 . This is a picture that I found at my moms. This lady is my great-great grandmother. On the photo it says she is my grandmother's grandmother. So so interesting. I did make copies of many others that I just can't wait to scrap. My Lifetime Story Album Challenge #1 posted

You are creating your own autobiography. This is the best story out there, it is your story. You have created many pages about your children, family, pets, vacations and holidays. Now you can focus on you. This has been a great experience for me and a chance to focus on me! I created these pages with much more passion, it helped me see my childhood in a new light, discover things about myself, my life, how I spend my time and what my priorities are.

The first challenge is to create a layout that will be the title page to your "My Lifetime Story Album". You will see I created a layout that is a collage of images of my life. From baby, childhood, teens, and adult years showing all the changes to where I am now.

Since this is your autobiography you will want to make a special title for your album. What do you want to name your own autobiography? This can be the title of your collage page.

Next we will be starting the chapter on your roots & heritage.

In the scrapping world, Ali Edwards started the tradition of One Little Word & in her words here is what it means:

"Can you identify a single word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2010?

It can be something tangible or intangible. It could be a thought or a
feeling or an emotion. It can be singular or plural. The key is to find
something that has personal meaning for you. This is not your mother's
word or your spouse's word or your child's word - this is YOUR word.

One little word can have big meaning in your life if you allow yourself to
be open to the possibilities. And here's one thing that is totally
interesting: sometimes a word will pop into your brain and it will not
make any sense to you right now. Give it some time. Let it percolate a
bit. I have often found that our hearts speak to us in very unique
ways. Maybe this is a word you need to hear but just aren't ready for
it yet. Again, be open to the possibilities."

Our first contest is going to revolve around Ali's One Little Word. You are to create a layout using your chosen 2010 One Little Word as your title & your journaling must express why you chose your specific word. Pretty easy, huh?? One only entry per person is allowed. The winner will be chosen by random draw, so this is not a contest about whose layout is the best! All layouts must be uploaded to our gallery by Valentine's Day (February 14th, 2010) by 11:59PM ET to be eligible for the draw! Please make sure "One Little Word Contest" is in your title line. Well, it is officially 2010...gotta get used to writing that. I am spending my last few days before returning to work with my parents. The kids (and some adults) are in the living room playing Wii Americal Idol Sing Star. The sounds are keeping everyone but Ciera awake. It is fun listening to them playing and having a great time with their cousins. I am missing my scrappy goods. I was up until 2:45 last night (this am actually) working on DT stuff. I was on a roll and loved everything that I did (all 5 layouts). I can't wait to be able to share them with you. I hope every one had a safe and happy New Year and best wishes to you and yours.

Completing a project like this does require preparation. I have spent many wasted hours when I go to create searching for a photo, scanning or making a duplicate. We are posting a few months in advance so you have the opportunity to prepare and gather photos for this project. Once your photos are gathered you will be ready to create each week the challenges are posted.

This is Ciera with Santa at her school. As you can tell, she is not so merry about seeing him. After this, I decided that the trip to the mall would be a waste. I am thinking this sounds like such a wonderful idea...will give it a try.

As the year is coming to an end we are busy planning for next year. In 2010 we are going back to the basics of leaving a legacy of faith. This years challenges are all focused on YOU and your lifetime story. When you join us in this challenge you will be creating a mini-autobiography. We are counting down the days till January 6th because we are so stinkin' excited about the My Lifetime Story challenges!!!

Wouldn't you to know what your grandma's favorite toy was as a child, how she felt when she met your grandpa, her favorite scripture and the song that expressed her heart? Your children and grandchildren will have that treasure when you join us in this challenge!

We will start out with your family roots in January and move into your childhood in February. We will continue throughout the year with your teen and adult years as well. The last challenge of the year will be a letter to your future generations or anyone who reads your book.

Each of our stories is important. This is a book that everyone should create about themselves. It will be the most treasured album of your family. As you create this album about your lifetime story you will be leaving YOUR LEGACY OF FAITH. This is an album that can make an impact in your life as you create it, but it will also create a major impact in the lives of your family both now and in future generations. As your children read your story in this scrapbook that YOU created, they will take your stories to heart. Your stories may have more impact on them than even Bible stories, because they are personal and from someone they know and . When friends and neighbors pick up your storybook and look through it you will be witnessing without even saying a word. They will read your lifetime history and discover your of Jesus, and His forgiveness and faithfulness in your life!

The My Lifetime story challenges will begin the first Wednesday in January. A new challenge will be posted each Wednesday all throughout 2010. The last challenge will be posted the last Wednesday of December. Just because the challenge series ends at the end of 2010 doesn't mean your lifetime story album is finished. We will continue to offer periodic challenges to continue your autobiography and keep it current.

Please join us in this year long challenge! Some of these challenges may be layouts you have already completed. That is ok! We need to get these all compiled in your lifetime storybook. Everyone deserves to be the star of their own book, including and most importantly YOU! If you don't put some time aside to create your My Lifetime Story album now, you may never find the time. If something were to happen to you, would your legacy of faith be lost forever? Take action now, join us as we create our lifetime storybooks for the next generation to see the glorious work the Lord can do in the life of a woman that loves God!

Begin thinking about what size album you would like to use for your My Lifetime Story challenge. started hers in an 8x8 but now has decided that she needs more space so is moving up to a 12x12. is doing hers 12x12 also because she knew she had a lot she wanted to fit into this album. What size do you prefer? Start gathering your supplies now so you will be ready to start when we kick off the first challenge January 6th!

An exciting new kit company and forum is opening soon. The Scrapbook Get- Away will offer layout and card kits. On our forum we will have monthly/daily challenges and plenty of things to do. We are looking for two design team members to join us for the inaugural Get-Away girls. We are looking for a diverse group of scrappers, from new to experienced designers. International candidates will be considered, but must be willing to pay difference in shipping. Being that this is a new site/forum , it is critical that the dt members selected be dedicated to building our community.

If you are looking for a new technique to try I have one for you. I have not crocheted since I was a young girl and really don't even remember how. If you do then I am going to recommend that you head on over to Susan Stringfellow's blog...Creatively Savvy. She has a tutorial on using crocheting on your layout and the results are spectacular.

my Crazy Life

Whew! life has been so crazy these last few weeks. We have a new family member. Lukas is our exchange student that will be living with us for the next year. He has been such a joy to have around. The girls love him and he and DJ get along great. I have also been selected as a DT memeber at Happy Scrappin' Scrapbooks. I am uber excited about that. Just got some awesome goodies in the mail and I am going to scrap this weekend, even if the world stops spinning without me. I can't wait to come back later and post some goodies for you too see.

Happily Ever After Crop at Serendipity Scrapbooks

Why should we let the kids be the only one's to believe in fairy tales and that there is always a happy ending? For one weekend Serendipity Scrapbooks is going to take us back to our childhood when we still were able to believe wishes do come true by wishing on stars.

If you love Disney and Fairy tales and love to let your imagination run wild every once in a while then this crop will be perfect for you. Come and join us for Challenges and games that the DT has worked hard to come up with and that all have a fairy tale twist.

Each of these challenges and games will have a RAK and as always we will crown a queen of the crop. Pre Crops will start August 14th with The Main Crop and challenges starting August 21st.

Scrapping the Music

I had not visited Scrapping the Music's blog in a while so I headed over there to help me out with a lo title. I was so happy that this weeks challenge was the perfect fit for a lo of my dd that I was working on. The challenge this week was to use the theme song from the old Mary Tyler Moore show. It worked out great and I had a good laugh listening to that oldie again. Thanks for the inspiration girls!

We are Back!

from Austin. The girls and I went down to visit my brother and his family. Had a good time and got some scrapping done while I was there. I also made a few purchases at Archievers. So lucky that there is not one here in Ft. Worth or I would be overdrawn all the time. I have been working on a little surprise that I will be sharing with everyone soon. I am uber excited to share but it is not quite ready yet so I am forcing myself to wait. Stay tuned, it will be revealed soon.

I have been on such a roll. I just love it when the mojo is rockin. Thanks in part to some wonderful sketches over at The Scrappiest Blog!! As many of you know I am usually not a "simple" scrapper but these sketches lend them self to a lot of flexibility. Lost a Great Friend

Wow, it seems like forever since I have posted. We were having problems with our phone lines after heavy rains and storms last week. Then our puppies tore up some lines so I have been without a computer at home for almost a week. I could check in from work but our server blocks blogs so I could not post here. I have been trying to scrap today but kinda in a funk after loosing a great friend. My cat was killed today by our puppies. I don't know if they meant to kill him but he was so old he just couldn't get away. I have had that cat for 16 years. I got him the year before I had my son. He has been with me thru thick and thin. In the past 9 months or so he had stopped going outside, just too old to fight with strays and the such. Today the weather was sunny and warm so he had ventured out to enjoy the day. My dd ran in and told me the puppies had killed him. I could not bare to go out and see. The dh and the kids buried him. I saw the girls picking flowers in the backyard. I know he was old and dying was near, just wish he could have gone off and done it another way. I will miss his character and presence around the house.

Such a cool t-shirt with a great message! I have a good friend (Katie) that is going through breast cancer and treatments right now. She finished Chemo in Dec. and is almost thru with radiation. As soon as I saw this shirt, I knew it was for her! She has such a postitive attitude, she is truely remarkable. She is getting her hair back and is so cute!!

Two Chicks Designs donates a portion of every sale of their breast cancer awareness apparel and accessories to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer.

If you have anyone in your life that has gone through or is currently going through breast cancer, definitely go check out the Two Chicks Designs site - lots of great things supporting the cure. And if you're a scrapbooker, check out their scrapbooking apparel while you're there - fun stuff!

I just love to use Lucy Chesna's sketches. She is such a talented lady. This month she is having a challenge at My Sketch World and when I saw the wonderful prize that is offered by Scrapdango, I just had to enter. A WHOLE KIT! super yummy!!
